Why not add a bag of Arthur Atkinson Kiln Dried Oak? This will complement the hardwood logs and provide a long burn and excellent heat output. On occasions Kiln Dried Oak will require more draft than traditional firewood, but once established will provide a lengthy burn time.
What is the best way to store Arthur Atkinson firewood?
Arthur Atkinson firewood is delivered in midi bags, barrow bags, bulk bags & tipped loads. Whichever quantity you choose it is important to store the firewood correctly. Although our packaging is breathable we recommend removing the firewood from it to ensure your firewood is kept in excellent condition. Our Seasoned Hardwood Logs do vary in moisture content so if you are looking for firewood for immediate burning we recommend our Kiln Dried Firewood which has a moisture content of under 15%.
Tips for storing your logs:
Your log storage needs to be dry and firewood stacked off the ground where possible to ensure damp does not work its way through the stack.
Ensure your chosen location for log storage allows maximum airflow throughout the stacked firewood.
Placing a sheet over a stack of firewood will restrict airflow and in warmer weather may lead to sweating of the firewood and mould growth.
